Lifelong faith formation is the process through which we deepen our encounter with Jesus in all stages of life. Grounded in Scripture, instruction in our faith, nourished through prayer and the sacraments, and accompaniment on this journey enables us to respond to the events of our lives in the light of the Gospel message.
Sacred Heart Parish is committed to supporting our parents in the faith formation of their children. We provide a family intergenerational program, meeting once a month. We gather for a bi-lingual Mass every Sundays at 9:00am at St Joan of Arc and then we meet afterwards for instruction for the children and faith sharing with the adults. We give all families from our three communities the opportunity to meet and share faith together. On the off weeks, when we do not meet, families have a variety of activities to do at home aimed at strengthening what was experienced at the parish.
All families with children ages 6-14 are invited to register for our faith formation program.
Families with children 7 yrs. of age or older are invited to join our sacramental preparation program for First Eucharist and Reconciliation. Our sacramental preparation is family based. Children should have a minimum of 2 years of catechetical formation before celebrating this sacrament.
All parish youth, 13 or older are invited to complete their initiation with the sacrament of Confirmation. Each person requesting the sacrament of Confirmation should have completed a minimum of 2 consecutive years of formal faith formation.
